Xerafy Ltd has introduced the Trak Family, a unique UHF RFID metal tag that is small in size but giant on features, style and performance. The Trak Tag Family portfolio is sized to fit a wide variety of assets, from IT components to large shipping containers.

“The Trak Family was designed to provide customers the convenience of using one RFID tag for tracking both plastic and metallic assets at the right price and read-distance performance,” said Dennis Khoo, CEO of Xerafy. “We also made it easy for customers to deploy by providing a unique sleek tag design with multiple ways for tag attachment and an array of colors.”

“Data growth, mobility, cost pressures and regulatory compliance are driving the demand for IT asset-tracking solutions,” said Diana Hage, CEO, RFID Global Solution, Inc. “The Xerafy Trak Tags, coupled with RFID Global’s Visi-Trac software, will greatly benefit businesses with reduced operating and compliance costs and dramatic improvements in data accuracy.”

“The asset tracking market for RFID was approximately $540 million in 2010 and is expected to nearly double by 2014,” stated Drew Nathanson, Director of Operations at VDC Research Group. “The introduction and availability of products and services that are aligned with the application, materials and myriad of use environments will not only facilitate adoption, but will also drive deeper integration, scale and expansion.”

The Trak Family incorporates the ISO18000-6c/EPC C1G2, passive, UHF RFID transponder with 512-bit memory. The tags are available in both U.S. (902-928MHz) and E.U. (865.6-867.6MHz) versions. The Data Trak meets the Financial Services Technical Consortium (FSTC) specification for tracking IT assets; Versa Trak’s performance and small footprint make it ideal for totes and RTIs; and the Cargo Trak has a read range of up to 33 feet (10 m) for cargo and yard management in a 3.94 x 1.02 x 0.35 inch (100 x 26 x 8.9 mm) form factor.
