RFID Global Solution has been recognized as the industry leader in aerospace, with successful installations across all aspects of the industry, resulting in the deployment of award winning solutions. Having designed, developed and deployed a solution to track critical sealant for several aerospace locations, has resulted in the creation of our patented SmartFreezer™ system. This system enables the user to track temperature sensitive sealant at -60 to -100 degrees Fahrenheit within remote storage freezers throughout the shop floor. The system was recognized by Boeing, and awarded the Silver Eagle Award for innovation, and is now in evaluation by many of the leaders in aerospace as a means to manage a very challenging and costly problem.
Other solutions deployed include the ability to track Work In Process (WIP) materials across and throughout a campus style facility. With an installation of over 80 readers in place, the means to track the movement and usage of key parts via racks, has been up and running for several years, and has enabled the user to manage part movement in real time. To add to this solution RFIDGS has developed handheld applications to enable the user to both inventory all items in remote locations, but also to load in specific tag identification’s, utilizing our Geiger counter application as a means to locate unique items. The result was the ability to inventory hundreds of racks in under an hour, verses the manual process that was conducted over an entire weekend. This same solution was deployed across a sister facility as a means to track its kitted items placed on travel tugs to be distributed throughout the facility. Key read points were established at various locations, to ensure the right product was available at the right time & location.
As the leader in RFID deployments we have also developed solutions for tool tracking, FOD management and composite out time tracking all of which have been deployed by RFIDGS team members. Currently RFIDGS is in development and deployment of a composite tracking solution to deal with out time and temperature tracking to ensure product integrity, thereby establishing an electronic chain of custody. This system takes a paper based manual process into an electronic solution via automatic identification simplifying auditing and accountability.
The above applications have been successfully launched as solutions that can be utilized to solve a variety of issues currently in Aerospace. In addition to those systems described above, RFIDGS has recently worked with NASA to deploy an active tag based solution that will enable them to locate key assets and items in fixed locations, with the ability to utilize RTLS functionality. As an extension of this solution RFIDGS has developed and deployed an asset tracking system within their vehicles, GlobalTrac to allow the users to validate that the correct items are onboard. Other users of RFID Global deployed solutions include Boeing, Northrop, Lockheed (SAVI) and NASA to name a few of our key customers within the greater Aerospace marketplace.
